PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK: Spring/Summer 2018

12:11:00 AM

Amir Sali pays homage to his loyal Chinese friends and customers for his Spring Summer 2018 collection. It is all the about the expression of creativity in white and ceramic blues, with Chinese symbols and designs, all inspired from the Ancient Art pieces of the Tang Dynasty.

“Nipa Hut“ represents an icon in the Philippine rural culture.
Taking this as his inspiration,  Jeffrey Rogador’s "Nipa Hut" collection consists of architectural principles of bold lines, patterns and  hard edge details.

Staple urban wear pieces, like hoodies, sweaters and shirts with printed MANILA and PHILIPPINES are ever present in this collection and are segmented into three colors: red, blue, and yellow, which signifies the colors of the Philippine flag.

Jerome Salaya Ang’s Untitled No. 75 is all about travel and exploration. He plays with eccentric palettes that connotes life beyond Earth and the universe. Using embroidered tulle chiffon and printed embroidered organza, he continues his loose, dropped-shoulder silhouettes from previous collections and still offers new playful shapes.

Taking inspiration from the amazing colors of the horizon after sunsets, Lyle Ibanez’s Summer 2018 are pieces in basic and functional silhouettes, with a modern twist. He used metallic jerseys, light neoprene, sequined tulles and played around with structures, like bubble hems and sleeves, color blocking & layering. “Chasser le Crépusculeu” are easy, wearable pieces for the every day, on-to-go woman.

Sidney Perez Sio Summer 2018 collection has this schoolgirl look, with bright red skirts done with pleats to match a bright white sports team jacket modified in double red stripes and candy cane colored corsages to complete a cool, easy style for today’s preppy and pretty young things.

Joel Rosales for EsAc Uniforms are made out of white-orange, white-green, brown-blush pink, black-blush pink-colored cottons, twill khakis, wool and chiffon, mikado and wool, and organza lace with stud stones for this “Classic and Basic” collection. He wants his wearers to feel comfortable even in their uniforms and to make them feel sexy in their own skin, hence the close to the body uniform sizes and silhouettes.

Mixy Dy Spring Summer 2018 is inspired by the most basic ensemble —THE SHIRT. Mainly white, with a touch of turquoise, mint green, salmon pink or black, made out of high quality cotton, chiffon, georgette and sequined novelty  in straight or A-line silhouettes, with magnets and straps, Mixy’s objective is to make every woman look fabulous, yet comfortable in wearing her ensembles. Having the Mixy Dy DNA, the clothes are transformable and can be worn in different ways and also several occasions.
