They say “Age is just a number.”

Last week, I covered this elegant baby boomers’ fashion show and anniversary bride celebration that I know I am far too young and out of league to enjoy and mingle around. It was one of Manila's seemingly endless string of fashion shows but it wasn't one of those parties full of hopping young people dancing the Pump Up the Jam and smoking cigarettes indoors. This was a sort of fashionably elegant party that senior rich people attended—people who used to dance the Mashed Potato and smoke indoors 40 years ago, when Ermita was still the cool party zone and Greenbelt didn't exist yet.

This is the circle of wealthy, educated and high-functioning seniors who we look up to.  A crowd that is composed of international ambassadors, high-earning businessmen, and accomplished personalities— and I was lucky and I partied with them.

It was amazing to realize that these boomers were young people once. And we should never forget that. They drink, party and laugh about all of the other things that they did (or are still doing). Apparently, some of them get hold of their party phase.

In the spot, seeing all of them smiling, Bravo Filipino Magazine respected and rewarded their achievements because these elite people share the type of hard-earned knowledge that only comes from a long life on this Earth. it is their experience that they dedicated their lives to the well-being of society and of the nation. All their lives, whatever their profession was they worked every day and all the time to do some service to the society through their field of activity. Dedicated their energy, thought, and creativity to support, nourish and to improve the quality of life.

Leaving at the event, as I push the down button of the elevator, I learned something for them…that life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance. Enjoy life, let loose, party hard and just have a good time.
