EAT: Lutong Bahay Anyone?
2:50:00 AMMy friends and I are certified Tagaytay and Batangas fanatics and we are confident to say that we already toured some of the famous spots of these two provinces. Most of our weekends are spent in our quest for good food. My friend, Emman (again! ahahah!) got this good "word-of-mouth" recommendation from a friend who said that somewhere along Batangas, there is an eatery that serves a different kind of tapa.
So we drove all the way to BALAYAN, BATANGAS... =)
Honestly, that was approximately 200kms from Manila, and is equivalent to (Manila-Tagaytay-Tagaytay-Manila Trip. Correct me if I am wrong with my distance computation...) And that was a TOO LONG CRAZY DRIVE. =) Kudos to Emman for his patience and endurance! ahahah!
Anyway, our informant said, its SUZIE WONG Restaurant. We asked some bystanders in our search for the place but unfortunately few of them were not familiar of what we were talking about. Luckily, there was this "Goddess" (my terminology to address gays) who led us to Ms. Suzie Wong's house!!!
Arrived at 7:45PM, we thought it was a huge restaurant, but its not. A very nice house that I felt I already arrived at my home. The "homey" feel of this small eatery was totally a relaxation haven.
Meet Ms. Suzie Wong Orbino, a bubbly mother of two beautiful kids and a humorous conversationalist. You can check out her FB page at: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/profile.php?id=100001527516352 to know her better.
Starving. We ordered this famous tapa specialty and to our surprise, PorkTapa served with eggplant and bagoong. A total comfort food, the meat was so flavorful as well as the eggplant.
Inside the eatery, Ms. Suzie has her board wall full of photos of her past and present regular diners. According to her, most of her customers are medical representatives (MedReps) from famous medical companies such as Abott, Glaxo, Pfizer, Uniliver, Nycomed and etc.
For desserts, try her homemade yema with pinipig bits and I assure you that your Php 6.00 is well spent.
