Fall 2011 Collection. Women can create their own version of this season’s look with the tempting NARS Fall 2011 Collection. Daring shots of color are balanced with softer, subtler tone. The eyeshadow palette ranges from bright true blue to silvery taupe, dazzling peach and matte dove gray.

Be flirtatious, by mixing and playing your eyes with the bold blue Outremer Single Eyeshadow, or the matte dove gray and frosted sage Delphes Trio Eyeshadow. Color your digits with this season’s hottest color, Galion – a dark deep gray nail polish that creates a luxe smoky look.

NARS Fall 2011 campaign was designed and photographed by NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars. Under his supervision, makeup artist Diane Kendal created the season’s look on model Mariacarla Boscono. The Italian beauty was chosen for her sophistication and chameleon-like ability to become the character she is made up to portray.

The Fall 2011 collection is resolutely avant-garde. Daring shots of color are tempered with softer, subtler tones. Eyes range from bright true blue to silvery taupe, dazzling peach and matte dove gray. Lips run the gamut from statement-making matte red to sophisticated plum and sparkling champagne pink.

MONTEGO BAY (PHP 1450)

Laced with moisturizing wild mango butter, this versatile rose-pink pure matte lipstick glides on with ease while delivering an ultra-matte finish.

MASCATE (PHP 1450)

The French name for the capital city of Oman, located on the Arabian Sea, this true red pure matte lipstick is both mysterious and dramatic.

OASIS (PHP 1350)

The perfect complement to a bold eye, this sparkling pink-champagne lip gloss works equally well alone or layered over lip color for a more nuanced look with pumped-up shine.

OUTREMER (PHP 1250)

Delphes (PHP 2450)

Mariacarla’s skin was prepared with PRO-PRIME™ Pore Refining Primer, evened with Siberia Sheer Matte Foundation, and set with Snow Loose Powder to create an immaculate complexion.

G-Spot Multiple was swiped onto the cheeks and blended toward the temples. To impart a fresh glow, Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush was swept softly across the cheeks and hairline, and down the bridge of the nose.

A light wash of Zardoz Cream Eyeshadow was dabbed across the lid, from lash to brow, and blended to a fresh finish. Next, the black with gunmetal shimmer of Arabian Nights Trio Eyeshadow was swept over the lid from lash to brow and along the lower lash line. The black with red pearls shade was blended into the outer corner, and the black with purple pearls hue was brushed across the lid and into the inner corner of the eye. The silver shimmer of Paris Duo Eyeshadow was applied to the brow bone and softly blended into where it met Arabian Nights. Lashes were curled with an Eyelash Curler and enhanced with two coats of Larger Than Life™ Volumizing Mascara. Eyebrows were bleached for a modern, dramatic effect.

Finally, Mariacarla’s lips were lined and filled in with Jungle Red Lipliner Pencil and blended with a fingertip to soften the color. The look was finished with Joyous Red Lipstick, applied to the lips directly from the tube.

The Holiday 2011 Collection pairs shimmery, bold, and rich colors for the eyes with a classic cheek. Lips offer the perfect balance of luminous and matte shades. Eyes smolder in exquisite, mysterious black hues infused with red, purple, gunmetal pearl, or shimmer. Skin is set aglow with rose cream laced with gold, and lips are finished with semi-matte amber red. The finished look is haute couture, dramatic and opulent.

NARS brings itself to the next level with its Larger than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. A collection of nine deeply dramatic shades, these unbelievably creamy smudge-proof eyeliners are designed with an unparalleled long lasting finish for up to 12 hours. It is the perfect balance between creaminess and structure.

With an ultra-concentrated color that glides on smoothly and easily, women can define and shape their eyes with an enhanced look by wearing or mixing shade from light almond to the blackest of black. The nine shades of this collection include a festive purple Bourbon Street, a slate gray Madison Avenue, an iridescent turquoise Abbey Road, a deep black Via Veneto, a crisp white Santa Monica Blvd, a coppery brown Via Appia, a metallic forest green Rue de Rivoli, a light almond hue Rue Bonaparte, and a deep royal blue Rue Saint-Honore.

Prepped Boscono’s skin with PRO-PRIME Pore Refining Primer. Next, Siberia Sheer Matte Foundation and Snow Loose Powder were applied for an immaculate complexion. Deep Throat Blush was blended on the cheekbone and up toward the temple. Albatross Highlighting Blush was lightly dusted across the cheekbones, the hairline, and down the bridge of the nose to lend the skin a soft glow.

After preparing the eyelid with PRO-PRIME Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, the left side of All About Eve Duo Eyeshadow was applied from lash to brow, the inner corner, and below the lash line. Next, the rich brown shade of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow was swept onto the bridge and into the inner upper corner of the eye.

Bourbon Street Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner was applied along the top and bottom lashes and inner corner of the eye. The color was extended to the outer corner of the eye and angled toward the brow. Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner was then applied along the upper and lower lash lines and extended outwards atop Bourbon Street. Cordura Duo Eyeshadow was then blended on top of the extended liner. Brows were defined with Sophia Single Eyeshadow. Lashes were given two coats of Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara.

To complete the look, lips were defined and filled with Tonga Lip Liner Pencil and finished with Señorita Lipstick for shine

Used to define and shape eyes, Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliners(PHP 1250)can be worn solo or paired with other eye products for a more enhanced look. To remove, simply wipe gently with a cotton ball moistened with NARS Eye Makeup Remover.

A deep royal blue named in honor of the ancient road in Paris’ 1st arrondissement that is home to some of the world’s most elegant boutiques.

NARS Cosmetics recently held a makeup workshop for its avid consumers in front of its boutique at Rustan's Makati. I was being invited to be the first one to see the brand's new collection for Fall 2011.

The said workshop was led by Marco Castro, NARS Makeup Artist, fulfilling a position designed to help communicate the philosophies and ideals that François Nars bestowed on the company at its inception.

Just to give you a short biography of NARS' makeup artist, Marco is a Peruvian-born lover of all things artistic. A self-taught director, photographer and actor, Marco learned the effects of cosmetics through two vantage points: in front of the lens, and behind it.

Marco had collaborations and experienced working with pretigious photographers such as Nan Goldin, David LaChapelle, Brigitte Lacombe and Elaine Constantine. He also has an extended list of clients and campaigns for Jean Louis David, Nike, Coca Cola, Gap, Levi's and Banana Republic.

The said workshop was attended by many bloggers, target consumers of cosmetic products and other members of the media.

Marco started by creating an immaculate complexion for his muse, applying Siberia Sheer Matte Foundation to the center of the face with fingertips, blending outward, and setting with Snow Loose Powder.

To add contour to the cheeks, brushed Oasis Blush just below the cheekbone and blended the color toward the temple.

Next, Marco concentrated on the eyelids were prepped it with PRO-PRIME Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, blending with a fingertip for a fresh finish.

Then applied Outremer Single Eyeshadow to the lid, layering the color to build intensity. To create a winged effect, the color is extended to the inner corner of the eye and up along the outer corner toward the brow bone.

Next, she swept the sheer white side of Pandora Duo Eyeshadow on the brow bone, blending it softly into the bold blue hue.

Lined the upper lash line with Rue Saint-Honoré Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner Pencil and the lower lash line with Rue Bonaparte Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner Pencil to open the eyes.

The silvery taupe shade of Grand Palais Duo Eyeshadow was blended along the lower lash line, extending the color into the inner corner of the eye.

Brows were defined with Bali Single Eyeshadow, and lashes were curled and finished with two coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara.

Lastly, Marco lined and filled the lips with Fantasia Lipliner Pencil—blending with a finger to soften the color—followed by Striptease Lip Gloss topped with Pago Pago Lipstick.
