ITs About Me: Laksa Noodles
9:35:00 PMHi readers and followers! ITs About Me. ITs About Me. I thought of this new blog topic category to introduce myself to you (though I still want to keep myself private! ahah!) I guess it is also my responsibility to share with you my simple favorite personal picks, wants and likes. So whenever you read of this ITs About Me, its me your blogger Rishy...

First in my list is Paotsin's Dumpling Noodle Laksa.
Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup from Peranakan culture also known as Baba and Nyonya, which is a merger of Chinese and Malay elements found in Malaysia and Singapore - Wikipedia
The origin of the name "laksa" is unclear. One theory[1] traces it back to Hindi/Persian lakhshah, referring to a type of vermicelli. It has also been suggested[2] that "laksa" may also be derived from the Chinese word "la sha" (辣沙; pronounced "latsa" in Cantonese), meaning "spicy sand" due to the ground dried prawns which makes the gravy taste extremely sandy. The last theory[3] is that the name laksa is derived from the similar sounding word "dirty" in Hokkien due to its appearance - Wikipedia

I had the first taste of this noodle when I received my first ever salary as an employee. I was strolling around SM Megamall Foodcourt to treat myself in a foodtrip and noticed this small food stall jam packed with people waiting for their food to be served. I was curious and got my attention so I mingled with the people. Surprisingly, I found dimsum balls, the usual stuff - chicken, squid, sharksfin and crab balls. While choosing for my food, I found this very affordable item - for only PHP 55.00 I can have dumplings and noodles in a full hot pot.
At first, I was hesitant to order that item because it seems different from what other noodles that I tasted. Served in front of me, was a very hot noodle soup topped with green vegetables and chillies. It had three pieces of pork dumplings, some vegetables, salted egg and noodles. My first sip was fail, because it was too steaming hot for me and I couldn't focus. And I tried to take a sip again and WOW!!! The flavour was exhilarating and so good!
Be the next to experience and savor its mouth-watering flavor. Paotsin has two variants of Laksa Noodles:
Dumpling Noodle Laksa:
Ingredients: Shirmp and chicken broth, green vegetables, salted egg, pork dumplings, coconut milk, chili paste, curry paste, onions, garlic and flat noodles
Crispy Pork Dumpling Noodle Laksa:
Ingredients: Crispy chunks of pork, shirmp and chicken broth, green vegetables, salted egg, pork dumplings, coconut milk, chili paste, curry paste, onions, garlic and flat noodles
